- A meeting to fight over space in our new building -- not much of a fight, but I am not sure how I ended up in the middle of it.
- My undergrad fellow and I talked about election reform, how to do data analysis, and his work on the Barak Obama campaign.
- Hank visited with the OU Psychology clinic to see if there is someone there who can help Steve. They said probably not, but they would be happy to talk to us to help us cope. Good news? or Bad News?
- The lines for the new well were getting put in at the Red River house yesterday--- they managed to cut the lines for the satellite TV and then they cut the electricity to the house. Good thing Dad was there to save the day and tell the electrician and backhoe guy what to do. Thanks Dad!
- Steve pissed the tutor (Jordan) off and he left a SCATHING note. What a joy that is to come home to. I hope he doesn't quit.
- Aunt Linda and Uncle George and Nitrox the big black lab showed up to visit and take us out to dinner. Parking the mobile home in the front of the house worked pretty well. It was great to see them. They left at about 9 this morning.
- Jessica the other tutor arrived on time this morning (woo hoo!) and said she hoped Steve would cooperate today. I hope so too.
- After George and Linda left and the tutor and Steve got settled, Hank and I frantically cleaned the house -- vacuuming and bathrooms! Because Kerry Herron arrives today to stay with us for two nights. He is guest lecturing in Hank's class and they are working on their next book.
- I have tons of work to do, and I will get to it. But first I decided to start a blog.

Nice! Have you NOT found a cleaning company, yet? If not, you should! It's interesting how Steve seems to be able to behave when he WANTS to. Try the help with "coping". What have you got to lose? I think the only person that can help Steve, is Steve himself. I know, sounds corny but we all know he CAN control himself...when he wants to. How is Kerry? Hope he is well.Have you ever eaten Progresso soup?? So good for coming out of a can. Give it a shot. My new book came today. Will start it this weekend. Thanks a mill. Gotta go! Kiss the boys for me....and if Steve is being a poop head, don't! Love, K
ReplyDeleteThanks K. My first comment! We have maids... the Sooner Maids, but they only come on Fridays. Have fun with your new book. It is good. The second one is better. I am reading Anne Rice's The Witching Hour again. It is a good one. Better than the Vampires. I will try and post often. Check back. Steve got a kiss.
ReplyDeleteHi Carol!
ReplyDeletethis is great!! we love to hear about all the craziness in the silva-smith-jenkins world. ;) just wanted you to know that we pray for steve and you guys every night and im sure that issabella has a direct link up there so hopefully they will help.
with the cleaning you could be in our boat were you pay someone good money to come clean your house and they do a REALLY crappy job right before thanksgiving and then you have to do it all over. then she comes back and does a 1/2 $%# job but at least i didnt have to pay her twice. dave was not happy. she wont be coming back thats for sure. issa is taking a little nap now and im studying for yet another certification test. fun. so really im just stalling like you were by setting up a blog :) anyway i hope all is well, and i bet your dad was probably disapointed that he didnt get to fish this time and had to save the day yet again. :)
Hi Caro, Mikaela finally taught me how to respond to a blog. Boy am I slow. Ilove your blog! Gophers!! that is the funniest thing I have ever heard. It gives a new meaning to the word "leak" !
ReplyDeleteHope you get this.
love you lots, Tita
Here is a post from Mommadogg235@aol.com....
ReplyDeleteI love the blog site - I did write a comment and hit the publish button but I guess it didn't work. I need a 5 year old to help explain. Of course, my wonderful (cuz he's watching!) husband, said I did everything wrong in a very supportive (?) tone of voice. He registered me on google but I don't have a clue how that's supposed to help - is google supposed to open doors for your blog? Is it anything like QVC? The know me there and they even say my name when they answer. I just know they love me and they think I'm special!
I hope you got the web site for our motorcycle group. It shows pictures of our garage day and our rides. If you didn't, it's www.nmalrch1.com. Try it and let me know what you think.
All is well here and crime continues to flourish - job security at it's best!
By the way, the letter you fixed up for your mom worked. Dr. Leech just copied it on his letter head and signed it. I'll take it to work tomorrow and that should do the trick for her release from her American duty - after all, you only have to have a drivers license here to be chosen. That's why pleas work better and are guaranteed even though the public usually feels every case is won at trial. They just can't understand why every gothic looking, tongue-pierced weirdo (with the exception of your mom) gets on the jury panel.
Bye for now - lots and lots of love from our end to your family. I don't know if I've ever told you but I'm so damned proud of you. I guess all the lessons in life I've ever taught you all have finally paid off. Well, maybe not lessons but at least life experiences. Your mom and dad did the good stuff.
Ok Ok Hello everyone! It is time for my blog debut! TADA! I happen to fancy uggs.....I know your problem is not with Uggs but with the combination of Uggs and short shorts.... Well you see, uggs are so cool and deadly expensive because they keep your feet warm in the winter AND cool in the summer. Perhaps this is why they are being warn with short shorts. I think its cute. If i had uggs i would probably wear them with short shorts.....for now i will stick with the flip flops. But really my issue is with your comment about leggings and shorts. That is actually my favorite fashion trend right now, but i like them with the cute little flats that are so popular.... u should try it....You are not old sister just maybe a little more clothing conservative. :) I'm doing laundry and wasting time on this blob so sorry everyone who just read this absolutly pointless blog about leggings and Uggs. Give my love to they boys.....LOVE YOU SISTER!!!!! Adios ♥
ReplyDeleteRemember that time in Red River that I was wearing Kate's Uggs and i hit my knees.......Then Everyone Froze and Katie yelled "Somebody Help Her!"
