Uggs -- A dilemma.
Now, don't get me wrong here -- I think Uggs are terrific. Warm, comfy and even stylish sometimes. But I have a pet peeve that really needs to be aired. I discussed this on facebook a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't get no satisfaction....
Uggs and short shorts.
I think they look really silly. I posted a comment on facebook that said something to the effect -- "Uggs and short shorts, ick! snow already." Alisa said, "Uggs + short shorts = bad in any weather!" Well, it has snowed a bit here since that post and so I thought we were done with the Uggs and short shorts -- but NO, now it is Uggs and short shorts and LEGGINGS!!! What are they thinking?!!? Now I am officially old.

Gophers. WHAT??!? Gophers.
It all started with a $250 water bill. Hmmm. Our Norman water bill is usually around 50 bucks. Then came a letter from the city that said, "Call a plummer! You probably have a leak." Well, we found the leak... the repair man arrived at 7:30 this morning with the news, the gophers, yes gophers ATE one of our sprinkler lines. Are there any more lines left in either of our houses that are yet to be cut, eaten, or leak? I think this is the last of them....knock on wood (or this pressed particle material that is my desk).

We will start with a list of the happenings of the Last 24 Hours
- A meeting to fight over space in our new building -- not much of a fight, but I am not sure how I ended up in the middle of it.
- My undergrad fellow and I talked about election reform, how to do data analysis, and his work on the Barak Obama campaign.
- Hank visited with the OU Psychology clinic to see if there is someone there who can help Steve. They said probably not, but they would be happy to talk to us to help us cope. Good news? or Bad News?
- The lines for the new well were getting put in at the Red River house yesterday--- they managed to cut the lines for the satellite TV and then they cut the electricity to the house. Good thing Dad was there to save the day and tell the electrician and backhoe guy what to do. Thanks Dad!
- Steve pissed the tutor (Jordan) off and he left a SCATHING note. What a joy that is to come home to. I hope he doesn't quit.
- Aunt Linda and Uncle George and Nitrox the big black lab showed up to visit and take us out to dinner. Parking the mobile home in the front of the house worked pretty well. It was great to see them. They left at about 9 this morning.
- Jessica the other tutor arrived on time this morning (woo hoo!) and said she hoped Steve would cooperate today. I hope so too.
- After George and Linda left and the tutor and Steve got settled, Hank and I frantically cleaned the house -- vacuuming and bathrooms! Because Kerry Herron arrives today to stay with us for two nights. He is guest lecturing in Hank's class and they are working on their next book.
- I have tons of work to do, and I will get to it. But first I decided to start a blog.
